I'm sad to announce that on the 16th of December '07, I lost my big brother (Ernst Ove Nilsen, may you rest in peace...) to a disease more scary then war, cancer... He was in many ways an inspiration to me and the biggest support one man can have. He NEVER lost faith in my music nor my dreams and is probably the reason why I always worked so hard for this.
He was more then a brother to me, he was also my best friend and the one i could trust my life to. Some of you might have heard my new track 'La Guitarra' that's recently signed to Armada.
This I dedicate to Ernst Ove Nilsen, my late brother, as it's a direct result of his death. I made the melody as I closed my eyes and thought of the good times we had. So this melody has both a piece of me and him in it.
Hi guys
Thanks for all the nice words, and the bad ones
I just wanna point out a few things, maybe to clense some air.
The 'tech' part of the tune (I would probably say more electroish tho) is suppose to be the angry part of the tune, and also to make it clubbier so people can enjoy dancing aswell.
The melody was made in pure disbelief, as I couldnt comprehend that my brother was gone.
Now... To the question 'why do producers make this s**tty tracks?'.
I made this cause i FELT like making it, I made it cause I liked it.
If I suddenly end up making music solely to please the masses, wouldn't that make me... oh lets say, COMMERCIAL?? I usually don't care too much about critisicm, in fact sometimes it helps alot, when it's constructive
But this tune means so much to me that for someone to call it s**te, just because they ain't into that kinda genre, it pisses me off!!!
I layed my heart and soul into this, making music like it was suppose to be, an expression of feelings and a way to picture a mood.
In the end, people have different taste, different views and maybe some have a larger perspective then others
Anyways thanks to all for giving it a few listens, and for taking the time to discuss it.
And for those who expect a remix, they will come
Regards, Orjan

What I like about this track the most is how simple & clean it is. No crazy sweeping lfos, no massive noise sweeps, just a very simple and powerful melodic progression with a clean rolling bassline. Just goes to show trance is all about melody and emotion and not as technological as some artists think it needs to be. I love traditional sounding trance so this will be a favorite for a long time to come.
