So the goal right now? I have no idea. I've thought about competing next year at the 2015 nationals, but I do not know if I want to do so. Truth be told, I've grown older, smarter, wiser and suddenly being big isn't everything that matters anymore.
When I was 20 and started serious bodybuilding, I just went yolo style, as a lot of young men do, because all I wanted to be, was to be big. But, youth and dreams eventually gets replaced with reason and thoughtfulness.
I once dreamt of being a professional bodybuilder. But the more time I've spend bodybuilding, the sooner I realised that that is never going to happen. In a lot of other sports, it is possible to reach the top if you have the genetics and train hard enough. In bodybuilding, genetics, hard training and dieting will only get you so far. If you want to succeed in bodybuilding, you better have a excellent response to gear. So while being big sounds fun and dandy and you don't give a shit about the sides when you are young, then trust me, that is going to change and you will eventually grow up and realize that what you are doing is perhaps not the sanest thing. Or you will keep going, and more than likely end up as the people I constantly see in the gyms around Denmark. Battern, broken, with insane health records at the age of 30. Lastly, you could be one of the FEW people who will get away with juicing for a very long time, but if you have gone to school and have a basic knowledge of how substances work, you'll know that EVERYTHING that has an effect, has a side effect. It might be bigger or smaller, but there will be a side effect, sooner or later.
I get messages, almost daily, from young boys, wanting to know how to take gear. When I say young, I mean down to the age of 16. I have yet to be messaged from anyone who had bothered to take the time to read up upon and self educate themselves about what the substances do and how they work, and that in itself is disturbing. The young mind is often made of dreams, not giving too shits about what happens later, because living in the now is in, so it's easy to just YOLO that shit and go ham.
The amount of supplements it would take for me to even get to the pro level, would probably mean that I wouldn't see a day beyond 50. Now, you call me a hypocrite, but I don't want to die chasing a dream, which means that I will maybe compete one more time, but then I will probably call it a day and just enjoy training and start a family with the girl of my dreams whom I've finally found this year.
I will always train and I will probably always be big, but competitive bodybuilding on a higher level, is just not for me. Lastly, do what you want with your life, it's non of my business, I just urge you to think a few years ahead before taking "the next step"
